On 25 September 2025, CARC will host a distinguished delegation from the Nordic Genetic Resource Center NordGen. Among the guests will be NordGen’s new Director Lene Krøl Andersen and Åsmund Asdal, coordinator of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault.
The full-day programme includes a welcome address by CARC Director Jiban Kumar, a tour of the genebank, cryobank and the laboratory for plant product quality. The programme also contains expert discussions on the particular challenges of genebank operations, an exchange of experiences on the storage and conservation of plant genetic resources, as well as a debate on the National Programme on Plant Genetic Resources and related support from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.
